RESTON, VA - June 19, 2006 - Clinical Care Options (CCO), the leader in the development of innovative, interactive medical education programs for healthcare professionals, announced the appointment of Trish Bates as General Manager of the Oncology Business Unit.
Ms. Bates joined CCO in 2005 as Director of CME Program Development for the Hematology/Oncology division. As General Manager, Oncology Business Unit, she will manage all oncology activities including strategic planning, tactical leadership and team management. She joins Amy Keller, General Manager, HIV Business Unit and Patrick Lamy, General Manager, Hepatitis Business Unit, to complete CCO’s disease- specific organizational structure.

Ms. Bates, with more than 15 years of healthcare marketing and sales experience, was Senior Director of Business Development for Optima Educational Solutions, a HealthStar Communications Company, from March 2004 thru April 2005. Prior to that Ms. Bates was Senior Vice President of OmegaMed, Inc., a medical communications agency focused on hematology/oncology from 1999 through 2004. In these roles she has worked successfully with many patient advocacy organizations including the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, the International Myeloma Foundation, and the Myelodysplastic Syndrome Foundation. Ms. Bates has also previously served as the Director of Communications for the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group, a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-sponsored clinical research organization, and simultaneously held the position of Director of Communications for the Coalition of Cancer Cooperative Groups from 1997 through 1999.
Ms. Bates holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Journalism from the University of Delaware.
